Casey Safreno

Mr. Safreno spent 20 years working for two investment banks in the New York and San Francisco areas, including 10 years as these firm's Global Head of Healthcare Investment Banking. From 1988 through mid-2003, Mr. Safreno was with Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York and San Francisco and was Global Head of the firm's Healthcare Investment Bank from 1999-2003. From mid-2003 through 2007, he was with Lehman Brothers, Inc. in New York and San Francisco as Global Head of the firm's Healthcare Investment Bank.

At these firms, he was responsible for managing the global healthcare investment banking business, as well as directly advising on numerous transactions involving many of the largest healthcare companies in the United States and Europe, including pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms such as Roche, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Eli Lilly, and Amgen and healthcare services firms such as Anthem, United Heathcare, HCA, Tenet, and Aetna.

Over the last several years Mr. Safreno has developed a sizable agricultural real estate enterprise, primarily located in California. He has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business (Arjay Miller Scholar), a JD from Harvard Law School and an AB in Economics from Stanford University.
